ODISHA'S LARGEST SHOPPING MALL HAS QUITELY REINTRODUCED PARKING CHARGES DESPITE BMC'S BAN...
Nexus Esplanade Mall, Bhubaneswar’s one of the biggest shopping Mall and movie hub, has reintroducing parking fees, despite ban b Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) in 2019 that no parking charges will apply in malls, hospitals, and commercial complexes.
Customers visiting the mall are now being asked to pay ₹10 for two-wheelers and ₹20 for four-wheelers, a move many say directly violates BDA’s directive. The earlier order had clarified that parking facilities are already mandated and included in building approvals, meaning malls cannot charge visitors separately.
After the BDA crackdown in 2019, Esplanade had temporarily offered free parking, but the charges have since returned. Shoppers are questioning whether rules are being openly flouted, while consumer groups argue this amounts to double-billing.
BDA has yet to issue a fresh statement, will BDA is going to take actions ?what's your view on this....
